Gallagher Seals

Gallagher Fluid Seals, Inc, is a family owned company established on January 16, 1956 by Walter B. Gallagher, Sr. In a small house in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, the business was started as The Walter B. Gallagher Company. The first year of operation generated sales of $48,000.00

Established as a mechanical packings, gaskets and seals distributor , the company's initial sales thrust was aimed towards OEM and MRO accounts in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware. In order to handle the rapidly increasing business, the company moved to larger quarters in Conshohocken, PA in August of 1959. In July of 1961 the company was Incorporated. With 20 employees, the company surpassed its first $1,000,000.00 in sales in June of 1973.

Precision Rubber Products Corporation, one of the Company's major suppliers, closed its New Jersey office and offered the opportunity to take over this operation as a distributor to Walter B. Gallagher Company. At the company's Conshohocken, PA location, the local government made the decision to rehabilitate the area, which forced the company to move. Land was purchased in King of Prussia, PA and a new office and warehouse were built and occupied in May 1976.

In March of 1998 a 5000 square foot addition was made and the company's name was changed to GALLAGHER Fluid Seals, Inc. This name change was more representative of the ownership of the company and reflective of the products stocked and sold. Mr. Gallagher has since retired from the Company. His son, Joseph W. Gallagher, has taken the reigns of the company for the past fifteen years.

Our primary products ( O-Rings, Teflon® seals, hydraulic & pneumatic packings, gaskets, compression packings, customer elastomeric & plastic products ) are second to none, but it is our extensive service offerings that attract and retain loyal customers.
