Gallagher Turns 50

Gallagher Fluid Seals, Inc, is a family owned company established on January 16, 1956 by Walter B. Gallagher, Sr. In the first year of operation, the company had $48,000 in sales.

Established as a mechanical packings, gaskets and seals distributor, the company's initial sales thrust was aimed towards OEM and MRO accounts in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware. In order to handle the rapidly increasing business, the company moved to larger quarters in Conshohocken, PA in 1959. In 1961 the company was incorporated. With 20 employees, the company surpassed its first $1,000,000.00 in sales in June of 1973.

Gallagher Fluid Seals’ primary products (O-Rings, Teflon® seals, hydraulic & pneumatic packings, gaskets, compression packings, customer elastomeric & plastic products) are second to none, but it is our extensive service offerings that attract and retain loyal customers. We truly tailor our business to meet your needs, and that is what makes us “The Seal Specialist.”

Rotary Shaft Seals PTFE Rotary FlexiCase™ & FlexiLip™

Parker EPS Division offers the highest quality rotary shaft seals at competitive prices. They can supply the right seal for your application by offering standard seal design styles, or by developing a custom design to meet your specific performance criteria at an affordable price.

PTFE shaft seals are an excellent choice for applications where elastomeric lip seals fail and mechanical seals are too costly. The filled PTFE element provides greater chemical compatibility, wider temperature ranges (-65°F to 500°F), higher pressure capabilities and longer life than elastomeric lip seals.

FlexiSeal™

The Parker FlexiSeal is a U-Cup lip seal geometry energized by a metallic spring. The seal is made from either virgin PTFE, filled PTFE composites or other high performance polymer plastics. Three different spring energizer designs are made from corrosion resistant metal alloys including Stainless Steel, Elgiloy®, and Hastelloy®. Standard FlexiSeals are precision machined to fit inch fractional MIL-G-5514 and AS4716 glands in radial rod, piston, and axial face seal configurations. Custom sizes and geometries are available from 1/8” to 72” diameters without tooling charges. FlexiSeals are used in dynamic and static applications where elastomer seals cannot meet the extreme operating conditions of harsh environments.
FlexiCase™

The FlexiCase seal is a metal-cased rotary lip seal suitable for applications where elastomeric lip seals fail and mechanical seals are too costly. The filled PTFE element provides greater chemical compatibility, wider temperature ranges, higher-pressure capabilities, and longer life than elastomeric lip seals. FlexiCase seals can run in dry and abrasive media environments and are available in single, dual, and triple lip designs. They are also designed to press fit into a groove.
FlexiLip™

FlexiLip seals are rotary seals incorporating deflected lip seal geometry. Anti-rotational devices such as flanges and o-rings are often utilized to prevent the seal from rotating with the shaft. Standard and custom sizes are available with a wide selection of PTFE materials. FlexiLip seals are suitable for sealing corrosive and abrasive media. A wide range of geometries and materials are available, depending on specific application requirements.
